Install ExtensionFrequently Asked Questions
Does it upload my file anywhere?
No. All compression happens locally in your browser - your files are read, processed, and saved back on your own device, and are never uploaded to a server.
What's the maximum file size I can compress?
You can compress files up to 150MB per file.
Is there a monthly limit on how many files I can compress?
No. There is no monthly limit on the number of files or the number of times you can use PDF Compressor - the only limit is the 150MB per-file size cap.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed, PDF Compressor works without an internet connection, so you can compress files anywhere, anytime.
Do I need to create an account or sign up?
No. There's no account, sign-up, or login required. Install the extension and start compressing right away.
Can I compress multiple PDFs at once?
Yes. PDF Compressor supports batch processing, so you can drag and drop several PDF files at once and compress them together.
What compression levels are available?
PDF Compressor offers multiple compression levels: a less-compression option that keeps the highest quality, a recommended balanced option, and an extreme-compression option for the smallest possible file size.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the content of your PDF, but PDF Compressor can reduce file size by up to 90% while maintaining quality. You can also choose from multiple compression levels to balance size and quality for your needs.
Does compressing a PDF reduce its quality?
It depends on the compression level you choose. The less-compression option preserves the highest quality, the recommended option balances quality and file size, and the extreme-compression option prioritizes the smallest file size over quality.
